Bienvenue!
If you have a special interest in French or French-Canadian Genealogy, come to an informal
gathering in Albany to share your thoughts about what the Capital District Genealogical Society
can provide.
We are interested in forming a Special Interest Group. Some people are CDGS members from
outside of our area. For our first meeting, we are going to have an informal discussion among
some local people. Then, we’ll hold a meeting via Zoom to bring everyone together.
Think about what you would like to know about in relation to your French ancestry. Are you a
beginner or a veteran researcher? What kind of program would be helpful to you? It’s really
amazing how many people have at least one French ancestor somewhere in their family tree.
We will hold our first informal gathering at 1:30 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Pine Hills
Branch of the Albany Public Library, located at 517 Western Avenue, Albany, NY. 12203, at
There is parking onsite. This library is located near where Western and Madison Avenues
converge. There will be snacks. Come share! Questions? Want to be on a mailing list? Write
